Opening Ceremonies for the i2rd/Vipa Solutions Winter Olympics

December 2, 2009
Lincoln, NE

Today kicked off the Opening Ceremonies for the i2rd/Vipa Solutions Winter Olympics. The event started at 1:15pm with Chief Game Commissioner Greg Dick playing the fanfare theme song from the ’96 Atlanta Olympics and starting the running of the torch. The torch, constructed with high quality craftsmanship, traveled around the world (office) with each team member getting an opportunity to carry it. It was placed in its own very special torch holder at the site of this years games (the conference room) and will burn (not literally) until the games begin on Friday December 4th at 3pm.

Participants are required to take part in the following 4 events at the Winter Olympic Games: Snowboarding, Speed Skating, Skiing, and Bobsled. All games will be played via the Nintendo Wii Platform. A randomizer was used to choose the teams this year and each team was able to pick their own country to represent. The team with the highest points at the conclusion of the Games will take home the gold medal. The teams are listed below:

Team Atlantis:
Ken, Muhlin, Jenna, and Julie

Team Pirate Nation:
Dan, Joseph, Ben B, Russ

Team Not Brazil:
Vivian, Josh, Greg, Rumin

Team Vipa 01
